Safeguarding
NewGen Academy
Our commitment
Everyone who trains with us should not just feel safe, but be safe. We are committed to protecting the wellbeing of every person who trains with us, both in the UK and abroad. All legitimate concerns are taken seriously.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation and any other forms of abuse have no place in this community and will not be tolerated.
What this means in practice
- Every participant is treated with respect regardless of age, gender, background, ability or experience.
- Sessions and camps are run by people who understand their responsibility for the welfare of those training with them.
- Training is matched to ability. Nobody is pushed into anything unsafe, and injuries or medical conditions disclosed to us are handled sensitively and in confidence.
- Concerns are acted on promptly, recorded, and escalated to the relevant authorities where necessary.
Participants under 18
For all participants under the age of 18, we ask for parent or guardian consent and emergency contact details in advance. This allows parents and guardians to stay informed about sessions or camps.
Before a participant under 18 takes part, ask the team to explain the supervision arrangements and the vetting appropriate to the roles involved, including relevant DBS checks.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the safety or welfare of anyone in our community, including yourself, tell us. You can speak to any member of the team in person, or contact us privately at info@newgenacademy.co.uk or by DM on Instagram. Concerns are treated confidentially and shared only with those who need to know in order to act.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services on 999 first.
Review
This policy is reviewed regularly and updated as the community grows. Questions about our safeguarding approach are welcome at info@newgenacademy.co.uk.
